Mugaksa Temple(無覺寺)

Originally Mugaksa Temple started out as a Buddhism temple for combat soldiers at Sangmudae(military unit). Inside the temple, visitors can enjoy the Buddhist culture such as the Book Cafe and Lotus Gallery, and the traditional tea house, Sarangchae. The temple is used as a cultural resting area and artistic spot for meeting.

Mt Mudeung(無等山)

Mt Mudeung covers an area of about 30 square meters above the metropolitan city of Gwangju. On the 12th of next month, Mudeung Mountain in Gwangju is about to be certified as a UNESCO World Geopridge Park. It has a combination of aesthetic values, scientific significance, and the natural heritage values of archaeological, cultural, ecological, and historical values. In this mountain, you can visit the special museum ‘Uijae Museum of Korean art’, which is one of our tour destinations.

Uijae Museum of Korean Art(毅齋美術館)

The Uijae Museum of Korean Art was established in memory of the famous Korean artist Heo Baekryeon(penname Uijae). He was a Chinese painting master of the Southern School in Korea in the 20th century. Many historic sites and artifacts related to Uijae can be found in the area around the museum. Uijae Museum of Korean Art has hosted notable exhibitions and seminars such as the 2002 Biennale Project 2 International Symposium. Currently, the classic works of Heo Baekryeon and a photographic exhibition of the famous artist are on display.

Gwangju Traditional Culture Center(光州傳統文化館)

The traditional culture center aims to bring out the inherent value of the traditional arts and provide educational programs for tourists. Here, you can learn the history of intangible cultural property in Korea and also enjoy Korea Fusion Music Performance, a combination between traditional music and contemporary music. Lastly, you can join special program where you put on Korean traditional clothes(Hanbok) and about learn Korean culture.
